Headspace and CO2

realtime co2 control and monitoring in grain bins

To detect in advance any possible problems related to the level of CO2 and humidity

The headspace sensor is important because it measures temperature, relative humidity, EMC, pressure, dewpoint and CO2. It is placed in the headspace of the silo or bin, and not simply at the top of it, for a specific reason. When a warm day turns to night the temperature tends to drop swiftly. This means that the roof of a metal silo will cool faster than the air in the headspace. Hence, large quantities of water can condensate on the roof and result in rain inside of the silo that will cause a lot of damages to your stored crops. Our headspace sensor will sense this development in advance and send warnings. In this way, you can react by either opening ducts in the roof or turning on the aeration system.

The headspace sensor measures the level of CO2 inside your silo or bulk. This value is important because the CO2 works as an early warning of the presence of microorganisms that might spoil your stored crops. When they consume the sugar in the grain, they produce large quantities of CO2 that will raise the temperature. The headspace sensor will capture this increase and send you warnings. This sensor is important to prevent any damages to your crops because the CO2 development happens long before the temperature begins to increase. Therefore, having a sensor capable of detecting the increase in the level of CO2 before this turns into an increase in the temperature, is fundamental.

The key functions and benefits are

  • Real-time high-quality CO2, Temperature, EMC, Dewpoint, and relative humidity measurement

  • CO2: 0 to 10000 ppm

  • Full Integration with the AgroLog Manager software

  • Simple and easy installation

Headspace Sensor in AgroLog Manager

The Headspace Sensor (HS), fully integrated with AgroLog Manager software, provides advanced protection for your stored crops:

  • Multi-Measurement: Real-time, high-quality readings of CO2, Temperature, EMC, Dewpoint, and Relative Humidity in the headspace.

  • CO2 Monitoring: Detects levels from 0 to 10000 ppm, serving as an early warning system for the presence of harmful microorganisms that may spoil your crops.

  • Condensation Prevention: Recognizes swift temperature drops that may lead to harmful condensation, sending alerts to prevent "rain" inside the silo.

  • Full Integration: Seamlessly works with AgroLog Manager software, allowing you to react promptly to any changes.

  • Get warnings early: Set thresholds to receive alerts when CO2 levels fall outside of a safe range, enabling you to quickly address any issues that arise before any damage has been done.

With the Headspace Sensor and AgroLog Manager, protect your stored crops from spoilage and maximize your yield with early warnings and timely interventions.
