Let us introduce our newest addition to our product line – the Wireless Sensor Spear

Our spear measures moisture and temperature and collects data on your App using wireless technology. SIM card equipped and fully wireless, our spear operates without the need for a gateway or extra connections nearby the barn. The spear is suitable for a variety of crops, such as barley, grain, potatoes, and also different kinds of environments, as it is waterproof. Thanks to its wireless design, the spear can be placed anywhere and moved around your farm easily. 

The spear is connected to the AgroLog App which allows you to access all the collected data in real-time, directly from your smartphone, wherever you are. The app allows you to not only monitor your crops and view historical data, but also notify you in case of moisture or temperature changes. Danish farmer Per Bo Hansen in Margård, is one of the first to get introduced to the Wireless Sensor Spear. Per has eight barns on his farm, where he stores various types of crops, including wheat, barley, beans, rapeseed, and oats. After years of farming, Per was still looking for an efficient solution to secure his crops and values.

 

Challenges

Per has many concerns about his farm and crops: he needs to ensure the quality of his crops, sometimes store third-party crops, manage aeration control, and get the most out of his harvest. Storing phase is the most challenging for farmers because it entails different aspects and care. Factors like humidity, temperature, pests, and aeration affect the quality and quality of crops. That is why storage conditions must be monitored, to avoid loss and spoilage. This is where a need for a reliable monitoring system comes into play.

Like many other farmers, he is in need of monitoring their crops at various locations of their farm. Finding a solution that would be easily moveable around the farm and not dependent on a power source had become a problem. He was also looking for a wireless solution that would not require proximity to check data, that he could check on the move without going to location each time.

Solution

The Wireless Sensor Spear provides farmers with a customizable wireless solution for crop management. Per benefits from the ease of use and the movability of the spear. He is now able to place many spears around his farm and move them according to his needs.

The spear is made for flat storage, aimed to be placed in your grain in order to monitor their temperature and moisture. It is suitable for a diverse range of crops and environments, the spear is placeable anywhere and it can be moved around the farm easily. The two moisture sensors and three temperature sensors along the length of the spear guarantee a full and accurate report of the crops

All data is gathered on the AgroLog App in real-time and he is able to check on his crops, whenever and wherever, right on his phone. The app allows Per to not only monitor his crops and view historical data, but also notify him in case of moisture or temperature changes. 

 

Results

By using the Wireless Sensor Spear, Per has been able to step up his grain management. He has less to worry about, as can monitor his crops anytime, anywhere – no need for numerous unnecessary on-site visits. The ease of use and reliability of the spear has freed up time in Per schedule, now he can focus on other tasks more diligently and trust that his crops are safe, checking up on them on the go.
